SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Finding current prediction market odds and event probabilities requires manually browsing Polymarket or writing custom API integration code. This Skill provides direct read-only access to Polymarket's public REST APIs so you can search markets, check prices, inspect orderbooks, and review price history without authentication. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Market Search and Discovery: Search events and markets via the Gamma API, list trending events by volume, and filter by tags, slugs, or active status. - Real-Time Pricing and Orderbooks: Retrieve current prices, midpoints, spreads, and full orderbook depth from the CLOB API using clobTokenIds. - Price History and Trade Data: Fetch historical price series by conditionId and recent trades or open interest from the Data API. - Use Case: A user asks "What are the odds of a rate cut this year?" The Skill searches Polymarket, parses the double-encoded outcomePrices fields, and returns formatted probabilities like "Yes: 65.2%" with trading volume. ## Quick Start Ask the agent to search Polymarket for current odds on a topic, for example: "What are the current Polymarket odds on the next US presidential election winner?"

Frequently Asked Questions about polymarket

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I check Polymarket odds for an event?

Search Polymarket using the Gamma API public-search endpoint with your query, then read the outcomePrices field from the returned markets. Prices map directly to probabilities, so a price of 0.65 means the market implies a 65% chance.

How to get Polymarket price history for a market?

Use the CLOB API prices-history endpoint with the market's conditionId, an interval such as 1w or 1m, and a fidelity value for data point count. The response returns timestamped price points you can chart or analyze.

Does the Polymarket API require authentication or an API key?

No authentication is needed for read-only data. All Gamma, CLOB, and Data API endpoints used here are public GET requests, and rate limits are generous enough for normal usage.

Can I place trades on Polymarket with this API?

No, this Skill is read-only and does not support placing trades. Trading requires wallet-based crypto authentication with EIP-712 signatures, which is outside the scope of these public endpoints.

Why does Polymarket return outcomePrices as a string instead of an array?

The Gamma API double-encodes fields like outcomePrices, outcomes, and clobTokenIds as JSON strings inside the JSON response. Parse them with json.loads() in Python to get the actual arrays before use.
