SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

PostgreSQL database access is often manual, error-prone, and time-consuming. This Skill provides a structured CLI workflow to execute SQL queries, manage transactions, and perform CRUD operations against PostgreSQL databases, reducing manual toil and improving reliability.

Core Features & Use Cases

Execute SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and DDL statements against PostgreSQL databases.
Support batch transactions for atomic multi-statement operations.
Call stored procedures and manage connections securely within a session-based Robomotion workflow.
Use Case: Automate routine data extraction, updates, and reporting pipelines that rely on PostgreSQL data.

Quick Start

Install the robomotion postgresql package and connect to a PostgreSQL database using the provided credentials, then run a sample query.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate PostgreSQL query execution and transaction management from a CLI workflow?▼

Automating PostgreSQL query execution involves running SQL statements and managing transactions through a structured CLI workflow, reducing manual toil and improving reliability when interacting with PostgreSQL databases.

Can I execute batch transactions and stored procedures against a PostgreSQL database safely?▼

Yes, executing batch transactions and stored procedures against a PostgreSQL database is supported natively, enabling atomic multi-statement operations and secure stored procedure calls within a session-based workflow.

Do I need the Robomotion CLI and vault-stored credentials to run PostgreSQL CRUD operations?▼

Yes, running PostgreSQL CRUD operations requires an installed Robomotion CLI and vault-stored credentials, along with explicit session usage to maintain state during multi-step database workflows.

What is the best way to maintain session state across multiple PostgreSQL SQL statements in an automated pipeline?▼

The best way to maintain session state across multiple PostgreSQL SQL statements is by using explicit session identifiers, ensuring robust session management and state continuity throughout multi-step data modification workflows.

Does this PostgreSQL automation approach support schema changes and DDL statements?▼

Yes, this PostgreSQL automation approach fully supports executing DDL statements and schema changes alongside standard SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations within your automated database pipelines.

When should I use explicit session IDs for PostgreSQL data extraction and reporting pipelines?▼

You should use explicit session IDs for PostgreSQL data extraction and reporting pipelines when performing multi-step workflows that require robust session management and consistent state across sequential database commands.
