Start by framing the problem area, target user, and constraints, then ask the assistant to generate multiple distinct approaches before evaluating any. This Skill guides the session through divergent ideation, provocation, and convergence phases.

Common frameworks include How Might We questions, Jobs-to-be-Done, Opportunity Solution Trees, SCAMPER, First Principles decomposition, and Reverse Brainstorming. Each opens different angles on the same problem, and this Skill applies them as thinking tools rather than rigid templates.

List every assumption the idea depends on, rate confidence and evidence for each, then identify the riskiest one that would kill the idea if wrong. Design the cheapest possible test for that assumption before committing engineering resources.

Use Jobs-to-be-Done when you need to understand the underlying motivation driving a purchase or behavior, since jobs remain stable while solutions change. Personas describe who users are; JTBD explains what progress they are trying to make.

Brainstorming cannot replace user research when the session keeps circling due to missing data. The Skill generates options and challenges thinking, but decisions still require evidence from customer interviews, usage data, or experiments.
