SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Convert a software project or design artifact into a structured interrogation that separates surface familiarity from deep technical understanding, enabling rigorous interview-style pressure testing.

Core Features & Use Cases

Progressive Question Chains: Builds coherent Q1→Q5 (and optional Q6) follow-ups that move from concept to mechanism, tradeoffs, implementation, and optimization.
Focused Themes: Prioritizes 4–8 high-signal themes across architecture, core mechanisms, performance, reliability, and OS/network/storage fundamentals, merging related topics to avoid trivia.
Interview Mode Controls: Supports optional role, strictness, domain bias, language, and theme count to match mock interviews, hiring screens, or self-assessment sessions.

Quick Start

Generate progressive interview question trees for my repository with a strict systems emphasis and five themes.

Frequently Asked Questions about project-to-question-tree

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I generate progressive interview question chains from a software project?▼

To generate progressive interview question chains, apply this Skill to your software repository, design document, or architecture summary. It produces themed follow-up chains that progress from concept to mechanism, tradeoffs, implementation, and optimization.

What is a layered interview question tree for systems design?▼

A layered interview question tree is a structured interrogation format that separates surface familiarity from deep technical understanding. It builds coherent Q1 to Q5 follow-ups across backend, systems, storage, infrastructure, performance, and runtime domains.

Can I customize mock interview questions for a specific role and strictness level?▼

Yes, you can customize mock interview questions by applying optional role, strictness, domain bias, language, and theme count parameters. This matches the generated question chains to specific hiring screens or self-assessment sessions.

How many interview themes should I target for a systems design assessment?▼

The assessment prioritizes four to eight high-signal themes across architecture, core mechanisms, performance, reliability, and OS/network/storage fundamentals. It merges related topics to avoid trivia and ensure focused technical depth.

What is the best way to pressure test a backend architecture document?▼

The best way to pressure test a backend architecture document is to transform it into a structured interrogation. This yields progressive question chains that rigorously evaluate technical understanding across infrastructure and runtime fundamentals.

Does the generated interview output follow a specific format?▼

Yes, the generated interview output emits a strict two-section markdown format. This ensures the progressive question chains and themed follow-ups are presented coherently for interview preparation or assessment sessions.
