What problem does it solve?
Protobuf Semantic Mapper automates the discovery of semantic structure from opaque Protobuf schemas by aligning a raw protoc decode with a reference JSON, producing meaningful tag-to-key mappings.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Heuristic cross-referencing between leaf values in a reference JSON and a decoded Protobuf tree to derive hierarchical mappings.
- Generates a context-aware mapping dictionary that can be plugged into deserializers to reconstruct semantic structures.
- Useful for debugging, schema evolution, and interoperability when Protobuf schemas are undocumented or missing.
Quick Start
Run the derive_semantic_mapping.py script with your origin JSON and raw protoc text to generate the mapping.
