SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill requires python3, and includes scripts (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill provides in-depth analysis and troubleshooting for complex routing protocol issues, ensuring network stability and optimal path selection.

Core Features & Use Cases

Comprehensive Protocol Support: Analyzes OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS, and static routing configurations.
Detailed Verification: Validates routing tables, neighbor adjacencies, LSDBs, and redistribution policies.
Use Case: Troubleshoot a BGP flapping issue by examining neighbor states, BGP table details, and route-map configurations to identify the root cause.

Quick Start

Use the pyats-routing skill to analyze the OSPF neighbors on device R1.

Frequently Asked Questions about pyats-routing

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I troubleshoot BGP flapping issues and validate neighbor adjacencies?▼

Yes, routing protocol analysis covers OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS. The skill verifies link-state databases, validates neighbor adjacencies, and checks redistribution policies to ensure optimal path selection and network stability.

Can I use Python 3 to automate network routing protocol verification?▼

No additional routing platform data is required beyond the device configurations. The skill analyzes existing routing tables, neighbor adjacencies, and link-state databases to validate routing protocols and identify stability issues.

What is the best way to analyze OSPF link-state databases for network stability?▼

Yes, this approach is suitable for complex enterprise routing environments. The skill performs in-depth analysis and troubleshooting for complex routing protocol issues across OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS to ensure network stability.

Do I need to configure a testbed path before running routing table analysis?▼

The skill validates redistribution policies by analyzing routing protocol configurations across OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS. It checks route maps and policy enforcement to ensure proper route propagation and optimal path selection.
