What problem does it solve?

Read-only reality check on completed upstream features. Diffs the current SPEC+PHASES against upstream PHASES.md (and optionally upstream plans) and writes a plans/realign-<date>.md with drift assessment and a recommended next step. With --apply, it also acts on the recommendation (inline-edit / add-phase / write BLOCKED.md).

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Surfaces drift between downstream SPEC/PHASES and upstream decisions, classifies severity, and recommends a single next step.
  • When --apply is provided, applies the recommended action inside the downstream feature directory (inline edits, add-phase, or BLOCKED.md) with the same safety constraints.
  • Stores upstream_phases_hashes so that realign decisions are based on actual upstream PHASES.md content rather than file mtimes.

Quick Start

Run /realign-spec <path/to/SPEC.md> to generate a drift plan against upstreams, and append --apply to enact the recommendation.
