Frequently Asked Questions about relight

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I change the lighting direction in a photo without reshooting?▼

Relighting adjusts lighting direction, color temperature, intensity, and mood in still images while preserving the subject's identity, pose, and framing. You can shift portraits to golden hour or create studio lighting effects from existing photos.

Can I match the lighting of a reference image using relighting?▼

Reference-based lighting matches apply the lighting style from a provided reference image to your target photo. The task preserves the original subject and framing while adopting the reference's color temperature and directional light properties.

What do I need to batch relight product photography images?▼

Batch image treatments require the RunComfy CLI, authentication, a supported image-editing endpoint, and user-provided image URLs. You can apply a consistent lighting style across multiple product catalog photos simultaneously.

Does relighting work for time-of-day adjustments on portrait photography?▼

Time-of-day adjustments are a core relighting use case for portrait photography. You can shift overcast conditions to warm golden-hour light or create window-light effects while maintaining the subject's visual identity and color appearance.

What happens to subject identity and framing when I relight an image?▼

Relighting preserves subject identity, pose, framing, and color appearance during processing. The dedicated relighting model adjusts lighting direction, temperature, and contrast without altering the original subject's structural or visual characteristics.

Are there limitations when applying surgical lighting changes to photos?▼

Surgical lighting changes use fallback models for broader edits beyond dedicated relighting. The approach handles color temperature shifts and mood adjustments but requires user-provided image URLs and RunComfy CLI setup for endpoint access.
