Users often wish ButterCut could do something it doesn't, but their ideas never reach the developers. This Skill turns those wishes into structured, privacy-safe feature requests that are actually delivered to the ButterCut team.

  • Duplicate Check: Verifies the capability doesn't already exist by checking skills, AGENTS.md, settings, and the CHANGELOG before sending, and points Pro-feature requests to ButterCut Pro instead.
  • Collaborative Drafting: Writes a one-line title and a short narrative in the user's own words, keeping footage, client, and subject names out of the request.
  • Consent-Gated Sending: Sends only after explicit user approval via ruby lib/buttercut/report.rb send --kind feature, optionally attaching a saved contact email for replies.

Can I request a feature if error reporting is turned off?▼

Yes. Feature requests always go through you directly — you approve the text before anything is sent — so they are not governed by the error-reporting setting. Someone who disabled error reports can still submit ideas.

What happens if the feature already exists in ButterCut?▼

The Skill checks skills, AGENTS.md, settings, and the CHANGELOG first and shows you how to use the existing capability. If it is a ButterCut Pro feature and you are on the free core edition, it tells you that instead of sending a request.
