What problem does it solve?
The Research Topic skill helps users quickly go from zero to a usable understanding of any topic by systematically organizing core concepts, processes, requirements, risks, and reliable sources so the user knows what to read, what decisions to make, and what actions to take next.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Clarification: Ask targeted questions when the user provides only a keyword to determine scope and motivation.
- Breadth-first Web Research: Gather authoritative sources, summarize core concepts, identify timelines, costs, and recent changes, and surface common pitfalls.
- Structured Output & Integration: Produce a reusable "knowledge map" template (overview, key facts, process, pitfalls, resources, next steps) and optionally save the result to Obsidian and create Things TODOs for concrete actions.
- Use Case: Preparing a decision brief for immigration options, evaluating a technical stack, or creating a purchase decision guide.
Quick Start
Ask the assistant to "Research [topic]" and produce a concise knowledge map with overview, key facts, how it works, common pitfalls, recommended resources, and suggested next steps, then save to Obsidian if desired.
