Frequently Asked Questions about revision-framework

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I revise prose using a systematic 3-column method?▼

The 3-column revision method maps each issue into Problem/Diagnosis/Fix columns, guiding you through structure, style, and mechanics edits top-down. Start by identifying structural problems, then refine style and wording, finally polish mechanics like grammar and punctuation.

What revision levels does the 3-column method cover?▼

Revision levels progress from Structure (organization and flow) through Style (clarity and voice) to Mechanics (grammar, punctuation, weak verbs, passive voice). Apply them sequentially to move from macro issues down to micro-level wording problems.

Can I use this revision framework for reports, proposals, and articles?▼

Yes, the 3-column revision method applies to any prose requiring revision—drafts, proposals, reports, articles, and similar text. The Problem/Diagnosis/Fix template and checklist work across content types and complexity levels.

How do I identify and fix common prose problems like weak verbs and redundancy?▼

The framework includes a checklist of common prose problems—weak verbs, passive voice, redundancy, filler—with diagnostic categories and corresponding fixes. Map each issue to the revision level where it belongs, then apply the recommended fix.

What is the TK placeholder system and how does it fit the revision process?▼

TK marks incomplete or uncertain content during drafting and revision. Use it as a flag in the Problem column when content needs verification, then resolve all TK markers before finalizing, ensuring no gaps remain in your revised text.

Does the revision framework enforce style consistency for markdown and links?▼

Yes, the framework includes house-rulebook alignment for enforcing consistent style across markdown formatting and links. Apply these rules in the Style and Mechanics levels to ensure uniform voice and presentation.
