SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Automates the resolution and creation of SAP transport requests by applying the sap-dev-core transport policy, providing a single entry point for deploy flows and ensuring consistent behavior across GUI and RFC/BDC modes.

Core Features & Use Cases

Centralized TR policy enforcement: DEFAULT / ASK / CREATE_NEW paths, persistent defaults per session, and consistent TR handling across SAP deploy steps.
GUI and RFC/BDC path support: route TR creation to /sap-se01 or to CTS_API_CREATE_CHANGE_REQUEST as appropriate.
Real-world use: when deploying changes across SE01/SE11/SE38 flows, quickly resolve or create a modifiable TR and propagate it to all deploy steps.

Quick Start

Provide an existing TR number or OBJECT_TYPE and OBJECT_DESCRIPTION to have the skill resolve or create the appropriate transport request.

Frequently Asked Questions about sap-transport-request

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate SAP transport request creation during deployment?▼

Automate SAP transport request creation by applying the sap-dev-core transport policy. Provide an existing TR number or object details to automatically resolve or create a modifiable transport request across GUI and RFC/BDC paths.

What is the difference between DEFAULT, ASK, and CREATE_NEW transport request modes in SAP?▼

These SAP transport request modes define policy enforcement: DEFAULT applies persistent session defaults, ASK prompts for selection, and CREATE_NEW triggers automated TR creation via /sap-se01 or CTS_API_CREATE_CHANGE_REQUEST.

How do I resolve a modifiable transport request for SAP deploy flows?▼

Resolve a modifiable transport request by validating its state and applying the configured transport policy. The skill routes creation to GUI (/sap-se01) or RFC (CTS_API_CREATE_CHANGE_REQUEST) and returns the resolved TR number.

Can I use RFC and BDC paths to create SAP transport requests?▼

Yes, SAP transport requests support RFC and BDC paths. The skill delegates creation to the CTS_API_CREATE_CHANGE_REQUEST function module for RFC/BDC routes, ensuring consistent TR handling across deploy steps.

Do I need an existing transport request number to deploy changes in SAP?▼

No, you do not need an existing transport request number. Providing OBJECT_TYPE and OBJECT_DESCRIPTION allows the skill to create a new modifiable TR automatically based on the configured CREATE_NEW policy mode.

Why does my SAP transport request validation fail during automated deployment?▼

SAP transport request validation fails when the TR is not modifiable. The skill validates modifiability before deployment, requiring a valid TR state or new creation via /sap-se01 or CTS_API_CREATE_CHANGE_REQUEST.
