SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Automates periodic task execution in Go applications.

Core Features & Use Cases

Job interface defines DelayTime, PeriodTime, and Run to model delayed and periodic work.
Scheduler orchestration collects and runs multiple Job implementations concurrently with safe Stop control.
Transactional and concurrent processing supports grouped work with goroutines and error propagation.
Use cases include cron-like background tasks for data processing, maintenance, and settlements.

Quick Start

Define a concrete Job by implementing DelayTime, PeriodTime, and Run; create a Scheduler, register the Job, and call Start.

Frequently Asked Questions about scheduled-task-skill

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I schedule periodic tasks in a Go application?▼

To schedule periodic tasks in a Go application, implement a Job interface defining DelayTime, PeriodTime, and Run methods, then register it with a Scheduler that orchestrates concurrent execution and safe Stop control.

How does the Scheduler handle concurrent job execution in Go?▼

The Scheduler handles concurrent job execution by collecting multiple Job implementations and running them concurrently using goroutines, ensuring safe Stop control and supporting transactional processing with error propagation.

Can I implement delayed and periodic background jobs for data processing in Go?▼

Yes, you can implement delayed and periodic background jobs for data processing by defining a concrete Job that sets DelayTime and PeriodTime values, then passing it to the Scheduler to automate the execution cycle.

What is the best way to manage cron-like maintenance tasks across Go services?▼

The best way to manage cron-like maintenance tasks across Go services is using a Scheduler that orchestrates concurrent Job implementations, providing retry and transactional patterns to ensure reliable execution.

Does this scheduling approach support transactional processing and retries?▼

Yes, this scheduling approach supports transactional processing and retries, allowing grouped work to run concurrently with proper error propagation across goroutines for reliable background operations.
