💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This skill helps agents understand their surroundings by identifying all visible objects and their states within a given room, forming the basis for further interaction.

Core Features & Use Cases

Environmental Survey: Provides a comprehensive overview of a room's contents upon entry.
Object & State Identification: Lists all items, containers, devices, and their current conditions (e.g., on/off, open/closed).
Use Case: When an agent enters a new laboratory, this skill is used to identify all available equipment, chemicals, and their locations before starting an experiment.

Quick Start

Use the scienceworld-room-explorer skill to look around the current room.

Frequently Asked Questions about scienceworld-room-explorer

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I identify all visible objects and their states in a simulated environment?▼

You survey a room to identify objects and their states by triggering an environmental understanding refresh upon entering. This action lists all items, containers, and devices along with their current conditions, establishing foundational context for further interaction.

When do I need to refresh environmental understanding during object detection tasks?▼

You need to refresh environmental understanding during object detection tasks whenever an agent enters a new room or requires updated context. This ensures accurate state tracking of all visible items before initiating any subsequent object interaction processes.

Can I use room exploration to track the state of containers and devices in a simulation?▼

Yes, you can use room exploration to track the state of containers and devices in a simulation. The survey action identifies all visible equipment and items, reporting their current conditions such as whether a container is open or a device is off.

What is the best way to survey a simulated laboratory before starting an experiment?▼

The best way to survey a simulated laboratory before starting an experiment is to perform an environmental survey upon entry. This identifies all available equipment, chemicals, and their specific locations, providing the foundational context needed for the experiment.

Does room exploration provide enough context for subsequent object interaction tasks?▼

Yes, room exploration provides enough context for subsequent object interaction tasks. By using a look around action to list all visible items and their states, it establishes the foundational environmental understanding required before an agent can interact with specific objects.
