FAQPage Schema

How do I automate screen recording and post-processing for product demos?▼

You can automate screen recording by prompting the system with a URL or app name and the flow to record. It coordinates capture via Steel Dev for browser mode or AppleScript and ffmpeg for Mac app mode, then renders the final video using Remotion.

Can I use ffmpeg and AppleScript to capture Mac app screen recordings?▼

Yes, Mac app mode uses ffmpeg, AppleScript, and cliclick to capture screen recordings. You prompt the system with the app name and flow to record, and it handles the capture and Remotion-based rendering automatically.

What does Remotion post-processing do for automated screen recordings?▼

Remotion post-processing trims dead time, merges and splits clips, applies zoom keyframes, and adds a gradient background. This produces professional screen recordings suitable for product demos, onboarding walkthroughs, and marketing videos.

Do I need Steel Dev to capture browser screen recordings from a prompt?▼

Yes, browser capture mode requires Steel Dev to record browser-based screen recordings. You provide a URL and the flow to record, and the system automates the capture and subsequent Remotion video editing.

What are the limitations of automating screen recordings with a single prompt?▼
