SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes assets (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

It is hard to know how your own messages land with colleagues. This Skill privately reviews a week of your own Microsoft 365 communications and surfaces moments where you may have come across as passive-aggressive, curt, sarcastic, or dismissive, with a kinder rewrite for each.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Weekly self-review: Scans your sent emails, Teams chat messages, and your spoken lines in meeting transcripts for a chosen week (defaults to the current week).
  • Evidence-based coaching: For each flagged moment it shows the exact quote with source and timestamp, how it likely landed, and a warmer rewrite.
  • Pattern synthesis: Summarizes 1-3 recurring tendencies and suggests 2-3 concrete habits to try next week.
  • Use Case: Schedule it every Friday so Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork delivers a private self-awareness report on how you communicated that week.

Quick Start

Ask Microsoft 365 Copilot: "Was I out of line this week? Review my tone using the self-awareness-review skill."

FAQPage Schema
How do I review my own tone in Teams and Outlook with Copilot?

Upload the SKILL.md file on the Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork Customize page under Skills, then ask Copilot a trigger phrase like "Was I out of line this week?" The skill scans your sent emails, Teams messages, and meeting transcript lines and returns flagged moments with kinder rewrites.

How do I schedule a weekly self-awareness review in Microsoft 365 Copilot?

Go to Cowork Scheduled Tasks, create a task set to run every Friday, and instruct it to produce your weekly self-review using the self-awareness-review skill. Cowork will scan that week's communications and deliver a private report.

Can this skill evaluate a coworker's tone or behavior?

No. The skill only analyzes the signed-in user's own words and explicitly refuses to evaluate, rank, or critique other people. For neutral meeting summaries it directs you to a meeting-intel skill instead.

Is the self-awareness review output shared with anyone?

No. The review is private by default and delivered inline only. The skill never sends, forwards, or posts any part of the analysis, and it skips messages or events marked private or confidential.

What happens if meeting transcripts or mailbox data are unavailable?

The skill notes the data gap honestly in the report rather than guessing what was said. It also never fabricates incidents; if the week is clean it states that no clear instances were found.
