What problem does it solve?

End-of-semester clinics lose critical knowledge when students depart. This skill generates per-case handoff memos and a cohort summary to capture case context, deadlines, communications, and ownership for the incoming cohort.

Core Features & Use Cases

Per-case handoff memos: creates detailed case handoffs that document current posture, pending deadlines, and client history.
Cohort summary: produces a summary document capturing all transitioning cases for the next semester.
Workflow integration: reads clinic profile, deadlines, and client-communications logs to drive consistent handoffs.

Quick Start

Load the clinic profile and deadlines, provide the active-case list, and run the handoff workflow to generate per-case memos and the cohort summary.

FAQPage Schema

How do I generate case handoff memos for departing law clinic students?▼

A cohort summary provides a single overview document of all transitioning cases for the incoming semester. It captures case context, deadlines, and ownership across the entire clinic to ensure continuity when multiple students depart.

What clinic data do I need to prepare for end-of-semester case transitions?▼

You need a CLAUDE.md clinic profile, a deadlines.yaml file, and per-case client communication logs. Providing this structured data ensures the handoff workflow can accurately capture case history and ownership for the next cohort.

Can I use this handoff process for multi-case clinics with graduating students?▼

This skill focuses on generating structured handoff memos and a cohort summary for departing students. It does not manage ongoing case workflows or track real-time deadline changes; you must supply updated clinic data for accurate handoffs.

What's the best way to document pending deadlines and client history for a law clinic handoff?▼

The best way is to consolidate your deadlines.yaml and client-comms logs into the handoff workflow. It automatically extracts pending deadlines and client communication history to produce structured per-case memos for incoming students.
