SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Plans an internal-link structure across pillars/clusters, anchors, and navigation to optimize crawlability and link equity, reducing orphan pages and aligning site architecture with business priorities.

Core Features & Use Cases

Start from target pages (pillars) and hubs; map supporting pages, cross-links, and upstream navigation signals.
Analyze current crawl to identify pillars, supporting clusters, orphans, and link-equity sinks; design a resilient internal-link graph.
Produce a link graph (source → anchor → destination) and practical recommendations for navigation, in-content links, and footer links.
Validate changes against metrics like inbound-link distribution, crawl depth, and routing of signal to priority pages.

Quick Start

Plan the internal-link graph for the blog hub by analyzing the current crawl, identifying pillars and orphans, and proposing anchor-text variations.

FAQPage Schema

How do I plan an internal-link structure to improve crawlability and link equity?▼

To plan an internal-link structure, you map hub-and-spoke content and pillar pages to optimize crawlability and route link equity. This process requires a current crawl export, priority pages, and an anchor-text strategy to build a source-to-destination link graph.

What is the best way to fix orphan pages and optimize site architecture?▼

Fixing orphan pages involves analyzing your current crawl export to identify isolated URLs and link-equity sinks. You then design a resilient internal-link graph that connects orphan content to pillar pages via navigational menus, in-content links, and footer links.

How do I create an anchor-text strategy for pillar pages and supporting clusters?▼

Creating an anchor-text strategy requires mapping target pillar pages and supporting clusters, then defining anchor-text variations for upstream navigation signals. You produce a link graph mapping source pages to destinations using specific anchor text.

Can I optimize internal linking for hub-and-spoke content using just a crawl export?▼

Yes, you can optimize hub-and-spoke content using a crawl export alongside a list of priority pages. The crawl identifies pillars, supporting clusters, and orphans, allowing you to design cross-links and validate inbound-link distribution.

How do I validate internal link changes against SEO metrics like crawl depth?▼

You validate internal link changes by measuring inbound-link distribution, crawl depth, and the routing of signal to priority pages. This ensures the new link graph successfully routes crawl equity to target pillar pages.
