FAQPage Schema

How do I migrate InterSystems IRIS instances to a new server?▼

To migrate InterSystems IRIS instances, you must provision a target server, install the platform matching configuration parameters, and transfer license keys, CPF, and databases. This ensures a functional data platform relocation with intact settings.

Can I perform a cross-OS migration for InterSystems IRIS databases?▼

Cross-OS migration for InterSystems IRIS is possible but requires addressing file compatibility and byte order conversion. You must handle unique operating system considerations to ensure databases are readable on the target system.

What files and configurations need to be transferred during an InterSystems IRIS server migration?▼

An InterSystems IRIS server migration requires transferring license keys, encryption files, CPF, and databases. You must also migrate interoperability configurations and Task Manager tasks to fully restore system operations.

How does server migration work for setting up or moving InterSystems IRIS mirror members?▼

Server migration assists with InterSystems IRIS mirror members by using the migration process to create new members or move existing mirror configurations to new hardware. This maintains disaster recovery topology during relocation.

What are the limitations when moving InterSystems IRIS configurations to new hardware?▼

When moving InterSystems IRIS to new hardware, you must carefully match critical configuration parameters on the target server. Overlooking specific security settings, encryption files, or byte order conversion can break system integrity.

Does InterSystems IRIS migration require the target server to have equivalent resources?▼

Yes, InterSystems IRIS migration requires preparing a target server with equivalent or superior resources. Matching server resources and critical configuration parameters before installation ensures the data platform performs optimally.
