How do I release a study from Draft to Released status?▼

Run python Scripts/_set_study_status.py <Slug> --status released. The script updates the canonical markdown Status and Edited on fields, syncs the catalog JSON and README row, rebuilds the index, and regenerates the PDF without a watermark.

How do I revert a released study back to draft?▼

Run python Scripts/_set_study_status.py <Slug> --status draft. This reopens the study for major revision, updates all catalog metadata, and regenerates the PDF with a Draft watermark on each page.

Can I change the status of an Ongoing or Planned study?▼

No. The script only works for studies whose current status is Draft or Released. Ongoing or Planned entries must first be registered as a draft using the add-study skill before their status can be changed.

What happens if I set the status a study already has?▼

Setting the already-current status is a verified no-op. The script checks timestamp consistency between the markdown and catalog, then returns without changing the timestamp or re-rendering artifacts.

How do I preview status changes without modifying files?▼

Use the --dry-run flag to preview what the script would change. You can also use --skip-pdf to update only catalog and metadata, then regenerate the PDF later with the regenerate-study-pdf skill.
