Shelly smart devices often need frequent inspection and cautious control, and manual LAN/cloud interactions are error-prone and hard to secure; this Skill provides a guarded, read-first workflow for device status/config discovery and carefully-approved actuation.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Local Gen1/Gen2 inspection: Read device info, status, config, supported methods, and components via the appropriate Shelly HTTP/RPC surfaces.
- Gen2 RPC and Cover/Switch control: Perform targeted actions like cover movement and switch/relay state changes with validation and approval gating.
- Shelly Cloud (v2) guarded operations: Fetch known device state/config for remote devices and build real-time events/WebSocket plans, using stored OAuth secrets while preventing unsafe output changes.
- Use case: Diagnose a failing window cover by reading its current status and config, then prepare an approval plan for a specific action (open/close/stop/goto) rather than executing immediately.
