This skill solves the problem of manually rebalancing inventory across multiple Shopify locations by directly moving specific quantities from one location to another.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Transfers inventory units between locations: Decrements available inventory at a source location and increments it at a destination location in one workflow.
  • SKU-based quantity transfers: Accepts a list of {sku, quantity} transfers and resolves each SKU to its inventoryItemId.
  • Safety-first execution with dry runs: Lets you preview the exact changes before committing.

Use case: You have excess stock at Location A and a shortage at Location B ahead of an upcoming promotion, so you transfer selected SKUs to ensure the right inventory is available where it’s needed.

Quick Start

Run the skill with dry_run set to true to preview which SKUs and quantities will be moved from the source location to the destination location.
