FAQPage Schema

How do I create a Slack-ready animated GIF from a sequence of frames?▼

To create a Slack-ready animated GIF from frames, you can automate the process by applying frame deduplication, global color palette reduction, and dimension controls to meet Slack's size constraints for messages or reactions.

What is the required size for a Slack emoji GIF?▼

The required size for a Slack emoji GIF is 128x128 pixels, while larger message GIFs typically use up to 480x480 pixels to satisfy Slack's format requirements and size constraints.

Can I optimize animated GIFs for Slack using Python?▼

You can optimize animated GIFs for Slack using Python by applying a global color palette for consistent color reduction, optional emoji-specific optimizations, and frame deduplication to reduce file size.

How do I control the FPS and duration of a Slack GIF?▼

You can control the FPS and duration of a Slack GIF by configuring the frame timing settings during the GIF creation process to ensure the animation plays correctly within Slack messages.

What is frame deduplication in GIF optimization?▼

Frame deduplication in GIF optimization is the process of identifying and removing identical sequential frames, which reduces the overall file size while maintaining the appearance of smooth animation.

Does this GIF creation process support global color palettes?▼

Yes, the GIF creation process supports global color palettes to achieve consistent color reduction across all frames, ensuring the output meets Slack's lightweight size requirements.
