SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This Skill turns a feature specification into a structured implementation plan, reducing ambiguity before development begins and making the planning phase repeatable.

Core Features & Use Cases

Planning Workflow: Validates the project setup, checks extension hooks, and drives the full plan-generation sequence.
Design Artifacts: Produces research notes, a data model, interface contracts, and a quickstart guide for the feature.
Use Case: Use it when a team needs a disciplined plan for a new feature, including architecture checks, artifact generation, and agent-context updates.

Quick Start

Ask the skill to plan the implementation for your feature and include any constraints, priorities, or project-specific requirements you want considered.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn a feature specification into a structured implementation plan?▼

To turn a feature specification into a structured implementation plan, use a planning workflow that validates project setup, checks extension hooks, and generates design artifacts like research notes, data models, and interface contracts.

What is the best way to generate data models and interface contracts before development?▼

Generating data models and interface contracts requires an implementation planning workflow that processes feature specifications, applies constitution checks, and outputs deterministic design artifacts to reduce ambiguity before coding begins.

How do I create implementation plans for projects using a .specify structure?▼

Creating implementation plans for .specify projects involves executing a plan-generation sequence that validates the structure, handles extension hooks, and updates agent context for deterministic planning outputs.

Can I generate quickstart guidance and research notes from a feature spec?▼

Yes, you can generate quickstart guidance and research notes from a feature spec by applying a structured planning workflow that produces these design artifacts while enforcing branch reporting discipline.

Does implementation planning require specific project structure validation?▼

Implementation planning requires specific project structure validation to ensure deterministic outputs, involving checks on a .specify directory, constitution checks, and extension hook handling before generating artifacts.

When do I need to update agent context during implementation planning?▼

You need to update agent context during implementation planning when transforming a feature specification into a structured plan, ensuring the agent has the latest data models, contracts, and research notes for downstream development.
