FAQPage Schema

How do I plan a sprint using agile capacity planning?▼

Agile sprint planning calculates available capacity using team size and historical velocity, then selects prioritized backlog stories to generate a comprehensive sprint plan summary.

What is the best way to map story dependencies for scrum?▼

Mapping story dependencies involves identifying and sequencing interdependent backlog items and external blockers to ensure proper sprint execution order and risk mitigation.

Can I use this for sprint planning if my team lacks historical velocity data?▼

Sprint planning requires historical velocity and backlog prioritization as input to estimate capacity and select stories accurately, so baseline metrics are needed for reliable outputs.

How do I identify risks during sprint planning?▼

Risk identification flags potential issues within selected stories or dependencies and suggests mitigations, ensuring the sprint scope and goals remain achievable and protected.

Does agile sprint planning support defining a specific sprint goal?▼

Yes, sprint planning helps articulate a clear, concise sprint goal alongside capacity estimation and story selection to keep the development team aligned and focused.

What are the limitations of automated sprint planning for backlog selection?▼

Automated sprint planning relies on stories meeting the Definition of Ready; without properly prepared backlogs, capacity estimation and story selection outputs will be inaccurate.
