FAQPage Schema

How do I validate a startup idea with market research and competitive analysis?▼

Market research validation assesses startup viability by analyzing TAM/SAM/SOM sizing, competitive positioning, and problem-solution fit. This Skill structures that research using web search, market frameworks, and competitive benchmarking to deliver data-driven feasibility recommendations for early-stage ideas.

What's included in a TAM/SAM/SOM analysis for startups?▼

TAM/SAM/SOM framing quantifies market opportunity: Total Addressable Market (TAM) is the full market size, Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM) is your reachable segment, and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) is your realistic capture. This Skill calculates these using market research data to position go-to-market strategy.

Can I assess startup risk and competitive positioning before launch?▼

Yes. Risk assessment and competitive landscape analysis evaluate market threats, differentiation, and positioning viability. This Skill combines web search and competitive research to identify risks, benchmark against competitors, and recommend positioning adjustments before go-to-market execution.

How do I evaluate problem-solution fit for my business model?▼

Problem-solution fit evaluation validates whether your proposed solution genuinely solves the identified problem and supports your business model. This Skill applies structured market validation templates and trend analysis to assess fit and surface gaps in your assumptions.

What data sources does this use for startup validation?▼

The Skill uses web search via requests and HTML parsing with BeautifulSoup (bs4) to gather competitive intelligence, market trends, and sizing data. It synthesizes this research into structured analyses using market frameworks and positioning recommendations.

When should I use market research templates versus gut instinct for startup decisions?▼

Market research templates should replace gut instinct for go-to-market and risk decisions. This Skill provides data-driven templates that surface competitive gaps, market sizing, and positioning blind spots that intuition alone typically misses in early-stage validation.
