System Documentation

What problem does it solve?

ThatOpen architecture provides a structured, component-based framework for building BIM/IFC viewers and applications, clarifying how to instantiate and compose core systems without resorting to direct new() calls.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Singleton component registry with lazy initialization: ensures a single source of truth for each component and predictable lifecycle.
  • Lifecycle interfaces and event system: supports Disposable, Updateable, Configurable, Resizeable, and reactive events to coordinate complex workflows.
  • Worlds manager for multi-view apps: coordinates scene, camera, and renderer to power multiple viewports or views.
  • Reactive data structures: DataMap/DataSet for tracking collections with event hooks and safe disposal.

Quick Start

Create a Components container, fetch a World using Worlds, configure a SimpleScene, SimpleRenderer, and OrthoPerspectiveCamera, then call init() to start the render loop.
