What problem does it solve?

Achieving physically accurate lighting in Three.js scenes is challenging without a guided approach. This skill provides a complete framework for combining ambient, directional, point, spot, and area lighting with environment maps to produce realistic results.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Supports all seven light types: AmbientLight, HemisphereLight, DirectionalLight, PointLight, SpotLight, RectAreaLight, LightProbe
  • Integrates PMREMGenerator and HDR environment maps for authentic IBL and reflections
  • Provides guidance on physically correct intensities, tone mapping, and shadow budgets
  • Includes practical examples and anti-patterns to avoid common pitfalls

Quick Start

Start by enabling tone mapping, add ambient and a directional sun, and load an HDRI environment to unlock realistic reflections.
