SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

It reduces costly trading mistakes by providing a disciplined, structured pre-trade review of thesis validity, position sizing, risk controls, and execution readiness.

Core Features & Use Cases

Trade thesis validation: Forces a clear one-sentence thesis, identifies catalysts and timeframes, and defines invalidation conditions before entering.
Position sizing and risk management: Calculates position size from portfolio risk limits and stop-loss distance, sets stop-loss and take-profit targets, and checks risk-reward thresholds.
Execution and post-entry discipline: Verifies liquidity, avoids overexposure, addresses slippage/gas/fees, and applies post-entry rules like moving stops after TP1.

Quick Start

Use the trade-execution-checklist skill to sanity-check a proposed long trade by filling in the asset, direction, entry method, entry/stop-loss prices, and target timeframe.

Frequently Asked Questions about trade-execution-checklist

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I create a pre-trade checklist for risk management and position sizing?▼

A pre-trade checklist for risk management validates your trade thesis, calculates position sizing from portfolio risk limits, and sets stop-loss targets. You define entry prices, risk-reward ratios, and invalidation conditions before execution to prevent uncontrolled exposure.

What is trade thesis validation and how does it prevent poorly planned executions?▼

Trade thesis validation forces a clear one-sentence thesis, identifies catalysts, and defines invalidation conditions before entering. It prevents poorly planned executions by requiring explicit risk-per-trade constraints and timeframes, ensuring you only execute trades passing strict checklist criteria.

How do I calculate position size from stop-loss distance and portfolio risk limits?▼

To calculate position size from stop-loss distance, input your portfolio risk limits and entry method into a checklist. The system computes the risk-reward ratio and checks sizing thresholds against your stop-loss and take-profit targets to verify execution readiness.

Can I use a trading execution checklist for both on-chain and exchange workflows?▼

Yes, a trading execution checklist applies to both on-chain and exchange workflows. It verifies liquidity, addresses slippage and gas fees, and checks for overexposure across long and short planning, ensuring post-entry discipline like moving stops after TP1 is maintained.

What are the limitations of using a basic execution checklist for complex trading strategies?▼

A basic execution checklist focuses on thesis validation, position sizing, and pass/fail risk-reward recommendations. It does not provide advanced automated execution, complex multi-leg strategy modeling, or real-time market data integration beyond structured pre-trade risk control checks.
