FAQPage Schema

How do I generate coding specifications for a software project from an existing codebase?▼

You can generate coding specifications by analyzing repository architecture and writing documentation into `.trellis/spec/` files. This Skill automates choosing spec boundaries and creating tailored guidelines instead of using placeholder boilerplate.

What's the best way to automate creating project-specific coding guidelines?▼

Automating coding guidelines requires a single-agent workflow that analyzes a repository and writes documentation. This Skill integrates with GitNexus and ABCoder to extract repository architecture details and generate real spec files.

Do I need GitNexus and ABCoder to analyze my repository architecture for spec boundaries?▼

Yes, GitNexus and ABCoder are required dependencies for repository analysis. They provide the repository architecture insights needed to choose spec boundaries and write accurate coding specifications for your software project.

Can I use this approach to update existing coding specs for a real codebase?▼

Yes, you can update existing coding specifications by re-analyzing the repository architecture. The Skill creates and updates `.trellis/spec/` guidelines tailored to the current state of your real codebase.

What limitations should I expect when bootstrapping coding specs from a codebase?▼

Bootstrapping coding specs relies on a single-agent workflow and requires GitNexus and ABCoder integration. It is designed for creating and refreshing `.trellis/spec/` documentation rather than handling complex multi-agent repository analysis.
