What problem does it solve?

True-input removes uncertainty by letting you validate that a specific terminal emulator truly emits the exact keystroke bytes you expect, end-to-end.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Real input path verification: Drives a terminal through the platform’s native HID/input mechanism (no PTY-synthetic injection), producing evidence that matches real terminal behavior.
  • Deterministic wait + evidence capture: Waits on PTY/log output (Linux) or uses platform-appropriate polling, then captures either a scrubbed PTY snapshot (Linux) or screenshots/video artifacts (VM platforms).
  • Cross-platform keystroke proof: Supports Linux/Wayland via a headless compositor, macOS via QEMU monitor sendkey, and Windows via KVM/QEMU virsh send-key, with per-platform command references and troubleshooting.

Quick Start

Launch a true-input session on Linux/Wayland for terminal-proof by running: TCTL launch "droid-dev" -s proof --backend true-input --cols 120 --rows 36.
