SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps you identify and correct a typo in a skill manifest so the system still detects the skill and can surface a useful hint instead of silently failing to apply exemptions or configuration.

Core Features & Use Cases

Frontmatter typo detection: Flags when a maintainer uses kebab-case brain-first instead of the canonical snake_case brain_first in the Skill frontmatter.
Still flags the skill: Ensures the skill is recognized for discovery/analysis even when the exemption declaration didn’t land due to the typo.
Verification via fresh lookups: Uses external search signals to validate or gather up-to-date information needed for analysis.

Quick Start

Ask the system to analyze the Skill’s SKILL.md frontmatter for a brain_first declaration typo and confirm whether an exemption was applied or missed.

Frequently Asked Questions about typo-frontmatter

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

Why is my SKILL.md frontmatter exemption not being applied correctly?▼

Your SKILL.md frontmatter exemption is ignored due to a brain_first typo when using kebab-case brain-first instead of snake_case brain_first. This configuration validation failure prevents the system from recognizing the intended exemption declaration.

How do I detect frontmatter YAML typos in a skill manifest?▼

Detect frontmatter YAML typos in a skill manifest by parsing the YAML to check for incorrect casing or delimiter formatting in exemption keys like brain_first. This surfaces a typo hint while keeping the skill discoverable and avoiding false negatives.

Does a snake_case formatting error affect skill discovery?▼

A snake_case formatting error in the brain_first key does not fully block skill discovery. The system still flags the skill as discoverable and surfaces a useful hint about the ineffective exemption declaration rather than silently failing.

What happens when configuration validation fails for an exemption key?▼

When configuration validation fails for an exemption key, the declaration becomes ineffective and the exemption is missed. Typo detection surfaces a hint about the incorrect casing, allowing you to correct the configuration and restore the intended exemption.

Can I use kebab-case for brain-first declarations in SKILL.md?▼

You cannot use kebab-case for brain-first declarations in SKILL.md because the canonical format requires snake_case brain_first. Using incorrect delimiter formatting renders the exempt declaration ineffective and prevents the configuration from applying.
