SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

UBS prevents buggy AI-generated code from being committed by performing pre-commit static analysis on changed files, catching issues before they reach downstream CI.

Core Features & Use Cases

Pre-commit checks: Run static analysis on staged or changed files to catch null safety, security, and performance issues.
CI/CD readiness: Integrates with CI to enforce quality gates and produce machine-readable outputs.
Language support: Scans JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, Java, C++, Ruby, and Swift projects.

Quick Start

Run UBS on your repository to scan changed files: ubs file.ts file2.py

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I run pre-commit static analysis to block buggy AI-generated code?▼

Pre-commit static analysis scans staged or changed files to identify and block risky AI-generated code. It catches null safety, security, and performance issues before they reach downstream CI pipelines.

What file formats and languages does static analysis for AI code support?▼

Static analysis for AI code supports JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, Java, C++, Ruby, and Swift projects. It can filter scans specifically by these languages when evaluating changed files in your repository.

Can I integrate static analysis checks into my CI/CD pipeline?▼

You can integrate static analysis into CI/CD pipelines to enforce quality gates against buggy AI code. It produces machine-readable outputs in text, json, jsonl, and sarif formats for dashboards and code scanning.

Does pre-commit static analysis work for both Python and JavaScript projects?▼

Pre-commit static analysis works for Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Java, C++, Ruby, and Swift projects. It filters repository changes by language to scan only the relevant files.

How do I scan an entire repository instead of just changed files?▼

You can scan an entire repository by passing the target files or directories to the tool, such as running a command like `ubs file.ts file2.py`. This allows you to evaluate both staged changes and full codebases in CI pipelines.

What is the best way to catch security issues in AI coding workflows before commit?▼

The best way to catch security issues from AI coding workflows is running pre-commit static analysis on staged files. This blocks risky or buggy code locally before it reaches downstream CI pipelines, enforcing quality gates early.
