System Documentation

What problem does it solve?

It helps teachers proactively identify the specific access barriers a learning task may create for different learners, before the lesson starts, so you can adjust design rather than react after students struggle.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Barrier prediction across UDL principles: Analyzes engagement, representation, and action/expression demands to find likely friction points tied to learner variability.
  • Environment and assessment validity checks: Includes physical/digital/environmental barriers and flags assessment demands that block demonstrating the learning goal.
  • Clear design vs. specialist referral boundaries: Separates barriers that can be reduced through universal design changes from those that likely require individual accommodations or specialist support.

Quick Start

Use the udl-barrier-anticipator skill to predict barriers for the task by providing the task description and the learner variability profile (and optionally environment and time available), then implement the top priority design changes it recommends.
