FAQPage Schema

How do I query a codebase using a knowledge graph?▼

Query a codebase using a knowledge graph by asking questions grounded in graph nodes, edges, and layers to retrieve relevant files, functions, and concepts.

What is knowledge graph-based codebase analysis?▼

Knowledge graph-based codebase analysis is querying graph structure to ground responses and locate relevant nodes, enabling precise codebase understanding and guided reading.

Do I need a specific file to analyze code with a knowledge graph?▼

Yes, you need the knowledge graph file located at .understand-anything/knowledge-graph.json to query nodes, edges, and layers for codebase analysis.

Can I locate functions and dependencies by searching code structure?▼

Yes, navigate the knowledge graph to locate relevant nodes like files, functions, classes, concepts, and their relationships to quickly understand unfamiliar codebases.

What are the limitations of graph-based codebase analysis?▼

Graph-based codebase analysis is limited by requiring the knowledge-graph.json file and cannot answer queries if the graph structure lacks the relevant nodes or edges.

What's the best way to understand an unfamiliar codebase?▼

The best way to understand an unfamiliar codebase is querying its knowledge graph to navigate dependencies and structure, grounding responses in graph references for precise answers.
