High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I identify UX issues by testing with real users?▼

User testing involves observing real users attempting core tasks to uncover friction points and design inefficiencies. This skill provides structured methods to define test objectives, conduct moderated sessions, and measure outcomes like task success rate, time on task, and error rate—revealing problems analytics alone cannot detect.

What metrics should I track during usability testing?▼

Track measurable metrics including task success rate, time on task, error rate, and user satisfaction scores. These standardized measurements quantify how effectively users complete core flows and identify severity levels of UX friction across onboarding, navigation, and feature interactions.

How do I plan and execute a usability test?▼

Test planning involves defining objectives, recruiting target participants, designing task scenarios using think-aloud protocol, conducting moderated sessions, and analyzing results against success criteria. This skill structures the full workflow from recruitment through severity rating and findings synthesis.

When should I use usability testing versus analytics?▼

Usability testing captures qualitative user struggles, confusion, and emotional friction that metrics miss. Use it to validate new features work intuitively, confirm design effectiveness before launch, and identify specific task blockers in onboarding and core workflows that require design iteration.

Can I validate multiple product features in a single usability test?▼

Yes, by structuring task scenarios around core features you want to validate—such as onboarding flow, navigation patterns, or feature workflows. This skill supports test planning across multiple validation goals while maintaining measurable task success rates and severity ratings.

What's the difference between think-aloud protocol and task scenarios in user testing?▼

Think-aloud protocol captures users' spoken thoughts during task execution, revealing mental models and confusion points. Task scenarios are structured workflows users complete to test specific feature areas. Both methods combine in this skill to identify UX friction and measure effectiveness quantitatively.
