What problem does it solve?
This interactive Skill guides product managers through mapping user stories into a shared narrative and release plan, transforming a flat backlog into a visual story map that clarifies scope and priorities.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Backbone generation: Create a left-to-right sequence of activities that represents the user workflow.
- Task detailing & prioritization: Add 3-5 tasks under each activity and rank them by Must-have, Should-have, Nice-to-have to align with releases.
- Release planning outputs: Produce a Walking Skeleton, subsequent increments, and a draft set of user stories ready for refinement.
- Facilitation templates: Use the provided template.md to run a structured 90-120 minute session and outputs checklist.
- Use cases: Align cross-functional teams, clarify scope for new features, surface gaps in backlog.
Quick Start
- Prepare a problem statement and target personas, print the story map outline, and run the 90-120 minute facilitated session using the template.
- Build backbone by identifying activities in narrative order, then add prioritized tasks under each activity.
- Define Release 1 (Walking Skeleton), Release 2, and Release 3 to outline incremental value and governance.
- Export or print the final map and draft stories for stakeholder review.
