SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This skill helps product teams plan robust navigation and screen inventories before UI implementation, ensuring coherent user journeys and reduces later rework.

Core Features & Use Cases

Define entry points, exits, and navigation structures for multi-screen flows.
Apply proven UX patterns (hub-and-spoke, progressive disclosure, linear flows) to onboarding, dashboards, checkout, or account management.
Output deliverables include an ASCII flow diagram, screen inventory, edge-case coverage, and implementation-ready patterns.

Quick Start

Draft an initial ASCII flow diagram and screen inventory for a simple onboarding flow using hub-and-spoke navigation.

Frequently Asked Questions about ux-flow

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

What is the best way to design user flows before building screens?▼

The best way to design user flows before screens is to define entry points, exits, and navigation structures using proven UX patterns like hub-and-spoke or progressive disclosure. This approach outlines information architecture principles to ensure coherent journeys.

How do I plan navigation structures for a multi-screen onboarding flow?▼

To plan navigation structures for a multi-screen onboarding flow, define entry points and exits, then apply navigation models like linear flows or hub-and-spoke. This structured approach produces an ASCII flow diagram and a screen inventory.

Can I use UX flow patterns for complex dashboards and checkout processes?▼

Yes, you can use UX flow patterns for complex dashboards and checkout processes. The skill applies proven patterns like progressive disclosure to define navigation structures and outline flow rules across these multi-screen product journeys.

How do I map edge cases and screen inventories for UX flows?▼

To map edge cases and screen inventories for UX flows, analyze the journey using structured information architecture principles. This process outputs deliverables including an ASCII flow diagram, screen inventory, and edge-case coverage.

Does planning user journeys before UI implementation reduce rework?▼

Planning user journeys before UI implementation reduces rework by ensuring robust navigation and coherent screen inventories. Defining the flow rules and information architecture early prevents structural inconsistencies during later design phases.
