What problem does it solve?

When a project vault is complete it clutters active workspace lists and may contain finished content that should be preserved but not actively indexed; vault-archive provides a reliable, repeatable way to move completed vaults out of the active vaults directory while keeping full git history and notes of the archive action.

• Safe archiving: Verifies the vault exists, appends a final log entry summarizing reason and counts, commits the vault state, and moves the directory into an archive folder.
• Optional promotion: Supports an optional promote-first step to graduate reusable knowledge to a meta vault before archiving.
• Preserves history and restoreability: Moves vaults rather than deleting them so they remain full git repositories that can be reopened by moving them back to the active vaults directory.

Quick Start

Use the vault-archive skill to move the vault named my-project from vaults/ into archive/.
