FAQPage Schema

How do I track agent tasks on a kanban board for daily standups?▼

You can track agent tasks on a kanban board by organizing them with structured statuses like todo, inprogress, inreview, done, and cancelled. This provides a single source of truth for current work, enabling heartbeat checks and standup summaries to keep stakeholders aligned.

What is a heartbeat check for task management and when do I need it?▼

A heartbeat check in task management refreshes your current workload by scanning the centralized task board for urgent work and @mentions. You need it to surface reallocate resources and ensure continuous alignment across agents.

How to scan for @mentions to assign tasks to agents?▼

Scanning for @mentions assigns tasks by detecting mentions across the kanban board and surfacing urgent work for reallocation. This structured workflow ensures agents claim and update tasks efficiently, reducing coordination costs.

Does vibe-kanban support a CLI-based workflow for task lifecycle management?▼

Vibe-kanban supports a CLI-based workflow implementing a structured task lifecycle for accessing and updating the board. It manages task statuses from todo to done, providing a centralized source of truth for tracking agent progress.

Can I use a centralized task board to reduce coordination costs across multiple agents?▼

Using a centralized task board reduces coordination costs across multiple agents by providing a shared source of truth to view, claim, update, and complete work. This ensures alignment and allows teams to reallocate resources dynamically via heartbeat checks.

What are the limitations of using a kanban board for agent task tracking?▼

Limitations of using a kanban board for agent task tracking include relying on manual status updates across the lifecycle. If agents fail to update task statuses accurately, the heartbeat checks and @mentions scanning cannot effectively surface urgent work or reallocate resources.
