What problem does it solve?

Ward design can suffer from subagents placing artifacts in non-deterministic locations, breaking reuse. Ward-Designer binds exact ward-relative paths during planning so outputs have fixed homes and downstream steps can rely on a stable layout.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Two-phase ward design: Phase 1 scaffolds the ward doctrine when missing, Phase 2 performs the load-bearing work by walking every step file and generating a Paths table that assigns the exact ward-relative path for each output.
  • Deterministic placement and reuse: subsequent subagents cannot improvise placements; the Paths table enforces a single, binded layout and reuse of existing AGENTS.md and memory-bank artifacts when present.
  • Seed-driven governance: if doctrine files are missing, minimal seeds are emitted to bootstrap the ward structure.

Quick Start

Run ward-designer to generate the Paths table for your ward by feeding it the current specs so outputs are bound to exact ward-relative paths.
