SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Enable LPC daemons to act as robust WebSocket clients with RFC 6455 support.

Core Features & Use Cases

Useful for long-lived connections to external services (pub/sub, real-time feeds, gateways) that require handshake, framing, masking, TLS/WSS, and subprotocols. The skill provides a base class STD_WS_CLIENT and an architecture outline to integrate your own daemons.

Quick Start

Inherit STD_WS_CLIENT in your daemon and call websocket_connect with your server URL to establish a connection.

Frequently Asked Questions about websocket-client

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I establish a WebSocket connection from an LPC daemon?▼

To establish a WebSocket connection, inherit the STD_WS_CLIENT base class in your LPC daemon and call websocket_connect with your target server URL to initiate the HTTP upgrade handshake.

Can I use secure WebSocket WSS connections with TLS verification?▼

Yes, the WebSocket client supports secure WSS connections by implementing TLS verification, ensuring your LPC daemons can securely connect to external real-time feeds and gateways.

Does this WebSocket client support RFC 6455 framing and masking?▼

Yes, the WebSocket client implements full RFC 6455 support, handling text, binary, ping, and pong frames with proper masking for robust long-lived daemon connections.

How do WebSocket subprotocols work when connecting to external pub/sub services?▼

WebSocket subprotocols are supported during the HTTP upgrade handshake, allowing your LPC daemons to negotiate specific protocols required by external pub/sub services and real-time feeds.

What is the lifecycle for handling WebSocket connection events in a daemon?▼

The WebSocket client provides a callback lifecycle for connection events, allowing your LPC daemon to react to handshake completion, incoming frames, and disconnections across long-lived connections.
