What problem does it solve?

Running GPU-bound Rust applications (wgpu, egui, eframe) in CI environments without a GPU is challenging. This Skill enables software rendering backends and virtual displays to validate rendering and visual regression.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Headless rendering: render to textures without a display server.
  • Visual regression: compare snapshots across CI runs.
  • CI compatibility: works in Linux with Mesa llvmpipe and xvfb, and macOS runners with a real display.

Quick Start

Run the CI job with xvfb-run and set WGPU_BACKEND=gl to enable headless rendering tests.
