FAQPage Schema

How do I create a backup of my marketing report layout before making structural edits?▼

To create a report backup, use the snapshot feature to capture the current layout, tabs, and widget configurations. This establishes a structural checkpoint that preserves your report configuration before you apply significant edits.

Can I revert a Whatagraph report to a previous version if an edit causes unintended changes?▼

Yes, you can revert a report to a previous version by restoring a previously created snapshot. This rollback capability quickly reverts the structural state of tabs and widgets, undoing any unintended configuration changes.

When should I take a snapshot of my report widgets and tabs?▼

You should take a snapshot before performing major report rebrands, swapping data sources across multiple widgets, or making significant layout edits. This ensures a non-destructive recovery point exists if the structural changes disrupt your workflow.

Does creating a report snapshot back up the actual data source connections and metrics?▼

No, creating a report snapshot captures the structural state of the report, specifically the layout, tabs, and widget configurations. It does not duplicate the underlying data source metrics or live reporting data.

What is the best way to manage report versioning for multiple marketing dashboards?▼

The best way to manage report versioning is to systematically list and create structural snapshots for each dashboard before edits. This workflow facilitates version control by maintaining accessible backups of individual report configurations.

Why does my report rollback not restore a deleted widget configuration correctly?▼

A report rollback restores the structural state captured at the moment the snapshot was created. If the widget configuration was already missing or altered before that snapshot was taken, the restoration will not recover the earlier structural state.
