SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Coordinates and switches between built-in Pennyfarthing workflows while a session is active.

Core Features & Use Cases

Manage multiple workflow patterns (e.g., tdd, trivial, architecture) and view current progress and phase in real time.
Switch workflows mid-session and inspect phase ownership or status to coordinate agents.
Use with commands like pf workflow list, pf workflow show, pf workflow start, and pf workflow fix-phase to recover from interruptions.

Quick Start

Run pf workflow start <name> to begin a named workflow in the current session.

FAQPage Schema

How do I switch workflows mid-session without losing my current context?▼

To switch workflows mid-session, use the `pf workflow start <name>` command to transition between patterns like tdd, trivial, agent-docs, or architecture without losing your active session context.

What is a workflow orchestrator and when do I need to manage multiple phases?▼

A workflow orchestrator coordinates and switches between different workflow patterns within an active session. You need it when managing multiple phases like tdd or architecture and tracking real-time progress.

How do I check the current phase and available workflow types in my session?▼

Run `pf workflow list` to check available workflow types and `pf workflow show` to view the current phase and inspect phase ownership or status during your play session.

Can I recover and fix a workflow phase if my session is interrupted?▼

Yes, you can recover from interruptions by running the `pf workflow fix-phase` command, which restores your current workflow phase and allows you to resume the active session pattern.

Does the workflow orchestrator require specific file formats or components to function?▼

The orchestrator enforces a YAML-frontmattered SKILL.md file with a name and description. It also supports optional components like scripts, references, and assets when present in the directory.

What's the best way to coordinate agents across different workflow patterns?▼

The best way to coordinate agents is by inspecting phase ownership and status with `pf workflow show`, allowing you to transition between patterns like tdd and architecture while managing agent responsibilities.
