FAQPage Schema

How do I capture research notes and quotes without altering the original source text?▼

Use an append-only note-taking methodology to capture research notes, which adds new material to designated files without modifying or deleting previous content. This preserves original wording and prevents premature drafting.

What is the best way to organize raw writing fragments for later use?▼

Organize raw writing fragments by appending observations, quotations, and research notes directly into specific project files. This maintains strict attribution and author authority while keeping material structured for later use.

Can I save personal observations and external source material in the same file?▼

Yes, you can save both in the same file because the system maintains a clear distinction between your original thoughts and external sources. It tracks attribution and verification status to ensure source integrity.

Does adding new notes to an existing documentation file overwrite previous entries?▼

No, adding new notes uses a non-destructive capture method that appends material to existing documentation files. It explicitly avoids modifying or deleting previous content, ensuring all raw writing material remains preserved.

How do I start appending notes to a specific file path?▼

To start appending notes, specify the target file path for your project. The system requires explicit file path approval before capturing your raw writing fragments into the designated source file.

When should I not use an append-only system for note-taking?▼

Avoid using an append-only note-taking system when you need to actively draft, outline, or revise content. This system is designed strictly for capturing raw material and explicitly prevents premature drafting or unauthorized content modification.
