What problem does it solve?

Creating standardized, production-ready technical specifications through an interactive Q&A workflow to reduce ambiguity and miscommunication in product development.

Core Features & Use Cases

Guided Q&A workflow: Gather context in stages to build a complete Tech Spec.
Template-driven output: Generate all required sections from the standard template, including metadata, problem statement, goals, changes, architecture, schema, API, UI flow, risk, and rollout plan.
References-driven drafting: Leverage references/template.md and related guides to ensure consistency and traceability.
Use Case: Product managers and engineers collaborate to create feature specs, architectural decisions, and acceptance criteria in one living document.

Quick Start

Ask the AI to draft a complete Tech Spec for a feature using the guided Q&A workflow.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I write a technical specification for feature planning?▼

Draft a technical specification by following a guided Q&A workflow that gathers context in stages. It generates a production-ready document covering problem statements, goals, architecture, schema, API, UI flow, risk, and rollout plans.

What sections should a tech spec template include for architecture reviews?▼

A standard tech spec template includes metadata, problem statement, goals, changes, architecture, schema, API, UI flow, risk, and rollout plans. This structure ensures traceability and reduces ambiguity during architecture reviews.

Can I use a guided workflow to create feature specs and acceptance criteria?▼

Yes, you can use an interactive Q&A workflow to create feature specs and acceptance criteria. It guides product managers and engineers through context gathering to produce a formatted, ready-to-use living document.

What is the best way to standardize technical documentation for product development?▼

Standardize technical documentation by enforcing a template-driven output structure for all feature specs. Leveraging a references template ensures consistency across product development, reducing miscommunication between teams.

Does this tech spec drafting process require any specific dependencies or platforms?▼

No specific dependencies or platforms are required to draft tech specs. The workflow operates independently to guide you from context gathering through solution design to final artifact generation.

When should I avoid using a template-driven approach for technical specifications?▼

Avoid a template-driven approach for technical specifications when exploring highly experimental features lacking defined architecture or rollout plans. The structured Q&A workflow enforces standardized sections that may not fit undefined contexts.
