What problem does it solve?

Collect and transform YouTube video content into structured, knowledge-base ready Markdown notes by extracting URLs, subtitles, summaries, and organizing outputs for vault storage. It does not download video files.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Validates YouTube URLs and accepts both long and short formats.
  • Extracts available subtitles (auto-generated and human-provided) in VTT/SRT formats and derives text transcripts.
  • Generates a concise Markdown knowledge-base entry including metadata, video overview, and a structured chapter/summary.
  • Optionally translates subtitles for bilingual outputs and can merge bilingual subtitles for publication.
  • Saves outputs to a Vault-like directory structure (00_inbox/02_clipping/yt-collector/{video_id}) with links to source URL and subtitles.

Quick Start

Provide a YouTube URL to start collecting its subtitles and generate a knowledge-base Markdown entry with an AI-generated summary.
