SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

It helps you when you don't yet understand a portion of the codebase and need broader context to see how it connects to the rest of the system.

Core Features & Use Cases

Higher-level abstraction: Converts a narrow uncertainty into a wider perspective so you can orient yourself quickly.
Context mapping: Produces a map of relevant modules and callers to explain how the parts fit together.
Vocabulary alignment: Uses the project's domain glossary vocabulary so the explanation matches how the repo describes its concepts.
Use Case: You encounter an unfamiliar function in a repo and need to understand which components depend on it and where it is invoked before making changes.

Quick Start

Tell the agent to use the zoom-out skill to map the relevant modules and callers for the section of code you are unfamiliar with.

FAQPage Schema

How do I understand an unfamiliar codebase area before making changes?▼

To understand an unfamiliar codebase area, you need higher-level context mapping to identify relevant modules and callers, explaining how the component fits into the broader system architecture.

What is the best way to map component relationships for pre-change impact analysis?▼

Mapping component relationships for impact analysis involves identifying callers and dependencies across the codebase, then explaining those connections using the project's domain glossary vocabulary.

How do I get a higher-level abstraction of a specific function during debugging?▼

Getting a higher-level abstraction of a function during debugging converts your narrow uncertainty into a wider perspective, showing relevant modules and invocation points to orient you quickly.

Can I use codebase navigation to find which components depend on an unfamiliar module?▼

Yes, codebase navigation identifies relevant modules and callers to show which components depend on an unfamiliar module, providing broader project-level context for onboarding and debugging.

Why does understanding the project domain glossary help with codebase navigation?▼

Understanding the domain glossary helps codebase navigation because vocabulary alignment ensures the architectural explanation matches how the repository actually describes its core concepts and relationships.
