What problem does it solve?

Brainstorming is essential to turn ideas into fully formed designs and specs through structured dialogue; this skill guides collaborative exploration to prevent rushed or ill-defined implementations.

Core Features & Use Cases

Guided, questions-first ideation to clarify goals and constraints.
Ability to generate 2-3 design approaches with trade-offs and recommendations.
Easy transition to implementation via writing design docs and planning steps.
Optional Visual Companion for diagramming and mockups.

Quick Start

Describe the project goal and constraints, then step through questions to reach a design-approved plan.

Frequently Asked Questions about brainstorming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn vague product ideas into approved design specs?▼

Structured brainstorming transforms vague ideas into approved design specs through guided, questions-first ideation. You describe project goals and constraints, then step through clarifying questions to reach a fully formed, design-approved plan.

What is the best way to plan architecture and explore design options collaboratively?▼

Collaborative architecture planning uses a stepwise process to generate 2-3 design approaches with documented trade-offs and recommendations. This prevents rushed implementations by enforcing thorough context exploration before selecting a path.

Can I generate visual diagrams and mockups during the design documentation process?▼

Yes, design documentation includes an optional Visual Companion for diagramming and mockups. This visual component integrates directly into the structured brainstorming workflow to help map out design specs.

Does the ideation process enforce an approval gate before implementation planning?▼

Yes, the ideation process enforces a hard-approval gate before any implementation actions occur. Teams must complete design documentation and receive explicit design approval before transitioning to implementation planning steps.

When do I need to use a questions-first approach for product discovery?▼

A questions-first approach is needed during early product discovery, architecture planning, and design handoffs. It clarifies goals and constraints to prevent ill-defined implementations when transitioning from initial ideas to structured designs.
